
When this error occurs, you may also see a notification from Windows Security, like the one shown below.

If you’re encountering this issue, try the following solutions.
Fix 1: Change the Backup Path
- In Driver Easy, click the current backup path.
- In the pop-up window, select a different folder where you want to save the driver backup, then click OK to confirm the new location.
- Try backing up your drivers again.
Fix 2: Allow Driver Easy Through Windows Security
- On your taskbar, click Start, type Windows Security, and select Open.
- Click Protection history.
- Look for the blocked action related to Controlled Folder Access (e.g., “Protected folder access blocked”). Then expand the entry and click Actions > Allow on device.
- Close the window and try backing up your drivers again in Driver Easy.
